The Florida Scholastic Press Association (FSPA) is excited to announce our mid-year newspaper/newsmagazine evaluations—a unique opportunity to highlight and hone your team’s journalistic pursuits.
Submission and Registration:
• Registration: Opens in September.
• Submission Requirements: Each publication must submit a minimum of 2 issues and a maximum of 3 issues. If you submit three issues, your top two will count towards Sunshine Standout and state eligibility.
Deadlines:
• First Issue: Due by October 15th, 2024
• Second Issue: Due by December 10th, 2024
• Third Issue: Due by March 1st, 2025
Feedback Timing: The earlier you submit your first issue, the faster you can receive feedback for the second and third issues.
Evaluation Process:
• Evaluations: Each publication will receive detailed feedback based on the submitted issues, covering areas such as coverage, writing, design, photography, and reader service.
• Eligibility: Submitting at least two issues makes you eligible for Sunshine Standout awards and state recognition.
